Holista Colltech Limited announced the results for the Persistent Experiment undertaken by Chemical Laboratory (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Chemlab) and SGS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (SGS) to test how long Holista's Natshield sanitiser would remain effective on skin and hard surfaces. The tests done by Chemlab was on skin, while SGS tested Holista's all-natural sanitiser on hard surfaces. Holista announced the results found that NatshieldTM remained effective on skin and hard surfaces for up to 12 hours. This is important because this is the clear advantage over alcohol-based sanitiser which last approximately 30 minutes and requires constant reapplication. This is also a big advantage in the formulation of nasal balm which will only need to be applied every 12 hours. Persistent tests on skin (hands and wrists) reported no growth for up to 12 hours for TPC, Enterobacteriaceae, S aureus count, P. aeruginosa count, Coliform count and E. coli count. Chemlab is the leading Malaysia Laboratory in this space and all its labs in the region being ISO/IEC 17025 accredited. Hard non-porous surface testing in accordance with EN 13697, which is a phase 2 step 2 carrier test, performed on surface disinfectants intended for use in the food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas without mechanical action to test the efficacy of the product against bacteria and/or fungi. SGS results showed Natshield was effective in controlling Enterococcus, E. Coli and Staphylococcus within five minutes and lasted for 12 hours. SGS is the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company with 2,600 offices and laboratories around the world. SGS has all the relevant accreditations.
