Henry Boot Developments submits planning for Daventry town centre development 18/01/2013

Henry Boot Developments Limited has submitted detailed planning for its Mulberry Place development in Daventry town centre. It is proposed that this will include 100,000 sq ft of town centre retail and leisure space, a 6 screen cinema, together with an 80,000 sq ft food store and 40,000 sq ft of bulky goods on an edge of town centre site. The scheme will be designed to complement the existing town facilities and will act as a catalyst for the continuing future development of Daventry.

Alan Jones, of Henry Boot Developments, commented: "the scheme has continued to evolve over the past few years in response to the changing market conditions. We are now confident that the proposal put forward is highly deliverable and responds to current occupier demands."

Ian Barbour, Head of Retail at Knight Frank, believes that: "Mulberry place will provide this expanding town with a new vibrant and exciting retail and leisure core that forms a natural extension to the existing shopping facilities within the town centre".

Peter Ratcliff, Investment and Development Consultant at Savills, added: "having worked closely with Henry Boot Developments and the Council for nearly seven years, it is heartening to see that this comprehensive regeneration scheme is now becoming a reality".

The planning application will now be considered by Daventry District Council.
