Hammerson plc said that it has agreed to acquire the new Grand Central shopping centre in Birmingham from the Birmingham City Council for GBP 335 million (USD 447 million/EUR 440 million). The Grand Central shopping centre, which opened in September 2015, comprises an area of 435,000 square feet (40,413 sq m), including 250,000 square feet leased to John Lewis department store.
