Guyana Goldfields Inc. announced production results for the fourth quarter of 2016. For the period, the company announced that gold sold for 2016 totalled 156,000 ounces at its Aurora Gold Mine in Guyana, South America, achieving its upwardly revised production guidance of 140,000 ounces to 160,000 ounces in its first year of commercial production. The company had a record fourth quarter with respect to both tonnes mined and tonnes milled resulting in 45,500 ounces sold in the period. The month of December was particularly strong with 22,800 ounces sold, a record for the year. Tonnes mined per day were 22,400 tpd. Ore processed was 1,889,000 tonnes.

The company provided production guidance for the year 2017. For the year, the company expects gold production to be 160,000 ounces to 180,000 ounces.
