JANUARY: GRENDENE BEGINS ITS TRADE SHOW / EVENTS SEASON Grendene takes part in the world's leading footwear sector fashion and business events

- and holds its Brazilian Sales Convention in the days before Couromoda

For Grendene events such as Couromoda, and its own National Sales Convention, are an opportunity to sense market behavior and reaction, especially in response to its future ideas under consideration, and get feedback from clients on product popularity and acceptance. It is also a chance to get closer to and strengthen relationships with clients, representatives and the sales force.
In Brazil, Grendene began 2012 at Fashion Rio (Jan. 9-13), and continues with

Couromoda (Jan. 16-19) and São Paulo Fashion Week (Jan. 16-21).

Worldwide, in January Grendene makes its presence felt at Agenda in Long Beach (Jan. 5-06), Surf Expo in Orlando (Jan. 12-14), Bread & Butter in Berlin (Jan. 18-20), Tranoi (Jan. 20-22) and Premiere Classe in Paris (Jan. 21-24).
At Brazil's annual Couromoda International Footwear, Sports and Leather Goods Trade Show, Grendene presents its 2012 Autumn-Winter collection, and renewed support for the products it launched for Summer 2011-2012 - offering a complete sample of the fashion, technology and design developed by the company for both the Brazilian and international markets. Grendene will be present with its leading brands and licenses: Rider, Ipanema, Cartago, Guga, Mormaii, Bad Boy, Grendha, Zaxy, Grendene Kids and Grendene Baby.
Fashion Rio and São Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW) are launch-pads for Melissa's
2012 Winter collection - continuing its long-lasting partnerships with famous designers such as Jason Wu, Vivienne Westwood and the Campana Brothers.
The Melissa and Ipanema brand continue to be official sponsors of these events, in a strategy of increasing identification of both brands with a leading position in fashion and with opinion leaders.

Grendene's performance: In the first nine months of 2011 Grendene delivered net profit of R$ 183.9 million, generated cash flow of R$ 253 million from operations, and paid R$ 123 million in dividends to its stockholders.

Over the coming years Grendene aims to strengthen the execution of its strategy, making tactical adjustments as necessary depending on the economic context. The results achieved are within Grendene's expectations, and with a higher level of operational efficiency than in previous years.
