GPI'S RIEDL PHASYS AUTOMATED WAREHOUSE DEBUTS IN JAPAN

THREE-YEAR AGREEMENT SIGNED WITH MEDICAL YOURS

Trento, 4 August 2022

This is the first trade agreement in Japan for the Gpi Group: the company Medical Yours, owning 13 pharmacies in the area of Kobe, signed a contract for the purchase of Riedl Phasys automated warehouses in three years. The partnership with Medical Yours also includes an exclusive for the sale of Riedl systems and the possibility to provide support and maintenance services throughout the Japanese market.

Negotiations have taken more than one year, during which several technical tests were carried out, in order to make sure the needs of Japanese customers were met.

Successfully passing this selection is particularly gratifying as Japan is a technologically advanced and very demanding country. The Riedl Phasys automation system has passed the quality screening.

This is a very important step for Gpi, as it helps to strengthen its positioning and reputation in the highly competitive robotics market.

The partnership with Medical Yours represents a further step in Gpi's internationalisation path and robotics is one of the most significant solutions in this context. The entry with robotics solutions on the Japanese market, together with the one in China from 2020, strengthens the Group's presence in the Far East.

The first Riedl Phasys automated warehouse will be delivered in October 2022. The whole contract corresponds to around one million Euro.

That's why the agreement is so important, especially strategy-wise.Medical Yours chose us because we proved to have great technical and commercial flexibility: we committed a lot to find a way to work in harmony and build a solid foundation for our future collaboration».

Masayuki Watanabe, CEO of Medical Yours, claims: «We are really happy to start this new business together with Gpi and we look forward to expand it as much as possible in Japan. Riedl Phasys is ultra-fast, extremely reliable and flexible. In 2019 we managed to develop the first robotized pharmacy in Japan using automation and we achieved very good results in the reduction of waiting time as well as errors. The Riedl system, faster and steadier, will allow us to further improve our performances».
