German mechanical engineering companies also recorded fewer orders in November.

Orders fell by 14 percent compared to the same month last year, the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) announced on Wednesday. Domestic orders were seven percent lower, while orders from abroad fell by 17 percent. The association pointed out that several orders for large-scale plants had been booked in the previous year. In the period from January to November, the drop in orders amounted to three percent.
