Pasig City, Philippines - January 29, 2015 - Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) − a world leader in High Performance Network Security - today announced that it has appointed MEC Networks Corporation, one of the country's largest ICT products, solutions and services providers, as its new distributor to expand its business and security footprint in the market.

The partnership agreement was made to provide better opportunities in both Fortinet's flagship FortiGate® next generation firewall (NGFW) solution and related network security offerings that extend from the client, to databases, to Web applications, to the overall network. MEC's appointment complements Fortinet's current distributorship arrangements in the Philippines.

Fortinet selected MEC for its long experience in the IT security sector, large ecosystem of business partners, and nationwide coverage. MEC's product portfolio covers network security and performance, connectivity, wired and wireless Infrastructure, IP and unified communications, servers and storage. The distributor also provides value-added services such as consultancy design, engineering deployment and turnkey solutions.

Under this agreement, MEC will distribute Fortinet's solutions to its existing reseller base, as well as expand the vendor's business by promoting its end-to-end security portfolio like DDoS mitigation appliances, Web application firewalls, advanced threat protection, caching and voice solutions.

MEC will assign dedicated resources to support Fortinet's business, including setting up a team to handle both pre-sales and post-sales functions. The distributor has also made initial investments on some Fortinet appliances to cater to proof-of-concept requests from end-users and business partners. Lastly, it will establish regular marketing programs, as well as partner enablement and training sessions, to equip resellers with the necessary skills and knowledge to sell Fortinet's products.
