We ended 2021 with GMV of R$826 million, a 67% y/y growth, with highlight to the performance achieved in 4Q21, which grew 26% in relation to the previous quarter.
The growth in 4Q21 was mainly driven by the resumption of investments in branding, with the new TV and OOH campaign, in addition to a good performance during Black Friday. Along with our campaign, we also launched the "first sale free" promotion which exempted commissions from new sellers, in line with our efforts to accelerate the start of their journey.
In December 2021, we also announced to our sellers an update of our commercial policy (effective since January 4, 2022), adjusting the variable commission from 13% to 18%, but maintaining the benefits offered at the start of their journey. As a result, we expect to reestablish our take rate and margins as of 1Q22.

We had a positive quarter in terms of acquisition of new buyers (+14% q/q), new sellers (+14% q/q) and new inventory (+2.5% q/q), despite the negative year-end seasonality, ending 2021 with nearly one million active buyers and one million active sellers on the platform.

GMV
The definition of GMV represents the total amount paid in reais by buyers for transactions of all kinds, for the purchase of products or services provided and carried out successfully, through the payment methods offered in the platform at the time of checkout. Transactions that are immediately rejected for any reason by payment processing institutions are not considered to be successful. Transactions that may subsequently be rejected by the platform as a result of security checks after confirmation of payment, or by refund to users, which may occur in cases of exercising the right to withdraw from the purchase and/or service provided, are not removed from the calculation Transactions above values considered outside the consumption standard in relation to the product categories of the platform are removed from the GMV calculation.
New Buyer
Buyers who make their first purchase in the platform, or who make purchases over a period of 18 months or more in the platform, a period in which we classify the user as lost.
New Seller
Seller who has published their first product in the platform during the indicated period.

As we mentioned in our last operational preview, we will no longer provide the release of preliminary results in the coming quarters. We understand that the operational preview does not adequately convey, in a broader sense, the dynamics of the Company's business, and therefore may cause difficulties in interpreting the evolution of our numbers.
