Electricité de France S.A. (ENXTPA:EDF) entered into an agreement to acquire Part of GE Steam Power?s nuclear power activities from GE Steam Power, Inc. on February 10, 2022. As on November 4, 2022, Electricité de France S.A. (ENXTPA:EDF) and GE Steam Power, Inc. signed the binding agreement related to EDF?s acquisition of GE Steam Power?s nuclear activities. The proposed transaction is subject to consultation with employee representatives and other customary closing conditions, including regulatory reviews. As of March 27, 2023 The CMA is investigating the anticipated acquisition by Électricité de France SA of the nuclear steam power business owned by the General Electric Company. As on May 25, 2023 the Competition markets authority approved the transaction.

The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2023. Freshfields acted as legal advisor of Electricité de France. On November 8, 2022, The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2023.

Electricité de France S.A. (ENXTPA:EDF) completed the acquisition of GE Steam Power?s nuclear power activities from GE Steam Power, Inc. on May 31, 2024. The transaction includes the manufacturing of conventional island equipment for new nuclear power plants as well as related maintenance and upgrade activities for existing nuclear plants outside of the Americas and as part of the EDF, this business will be called Arabelle Solutions.
