Swiss luxury group Richemont said it appointed Catherine Renier as Chief Executive of its jewelry and watchmaking brand Van Cleef & Arpels.

Renier is currently CEO of watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre, also owned by Richemont as part of its specialist watchmakers division. Following the appointment--effective from Sept. 1--she will succeed Nicolas Bos, who is now group CEO.

Philippe Hermann, who is currently Chief Financial Officer of Jaeger-LeCoultre, will assume the role of ad interim CEO of the brand until a new CEO is announced, the company said Tuesday.

Renier joined the group in 1999 and has held a number of positions at the group, including management roles at Van Cleef & Arpels. In 2018 she was appointed CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre. Since then, she has built a clear and differentiated positioning for the brand, which has been foundational to its success during her tenure, Bos said.

The move follows the announcement earlier of a management shift at the company's core jewelry brand Cartier. Richemont said it appointed Louis Ferla, who most recently led watchmaker Vacheron Constantin, as CEO of Cartier.

Ferla will succeed Cyrille Vigneron, who decided to retire after eight years as head of the brand.

Richemont continues to reshuffle its leadership ranks. Tuesday's management shifts at Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier--the company's heavyweight brands of the core jewelry division--follow the appointment of Nicolas Bos as group CEO last month.
