MEDFORD, Mass. (AP) _ Century Bancorp Inc. (CNBKA) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $11.6 million.

The Medford, Massachusetts-based bank said it had earnings of $2.08 per share.

The bank posted revenue of $43.2 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $35.1 million, exceeding Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported profit of $42.2 million, or $7.58 per share. Revenue was reported as $125.9 million.

Century Bancorp shares have risen roughly 3% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $79.60, a decline of 12% in the last 12 months.
