Calgary, Alberta - Proventure Income Fund ("Proventure"), announced that its board of trustees has approved a special cash distribution to Proventure's unitholders of $1.70 per unit. Payment will be made on or about January 23, 2012 to unitholders of record as of the close of business on January 17, 2012. Investors are cautioned that distributions are always subject to approval from the board of trustees of Proventure and may be increased, decreased or suspended by the board at any time.

Proventure also wishes to announce that the special cash distribution will not be eligible for reinvestment under Proventure's distribution reinvestment plan.
