Cerebos Staff Take Time Out From Work To Man The Booths At
BRAND'S® Charity Sales 2012
Aims To Raise Funds For Needy Children Of The ST School
Pocket Money Fund
Singapore, 17th September 2012… Cerebos Pacific Limited is
organizing its 11th BRAND'S® Charity Sales on 18-19 September
2012 in aid of The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund
(STSPMF). Held from 11am - 7pm at China Square Central, all
proceeds (including cost of the BRAND'S® products) will go
towards the Fund.
Cerebos, a founding company of the STSPMF, has adopted the
Fund as its corporate charity since its inception in 2000 and
has been strongly supporting the STSPMF as part of its
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) through various
innovative means. The BRAND'S® Charity Sales is one of these
initiatives. Managed by its own staff, the charity sales will
have BRAND'S® products sold at attractively discounted prices
during the 2-day event. Last year's charity sale managed to
raise over S$31,000 for the Fund. Over the past 10 years,
more than S$176,000 has been raised from the sales.
While appreciating the previous years' success, Cerebos'
President and Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Eiji Koike
was mindful of the current economic situation and hopes to
continue obtaining the support of customers in raising funds.
"Although the Fund has received full charity status this
year, it does not receive any special or additional funding.
This means the Fund still needs to raise around $5 million
annually for more than 10,000 children, to cover the costs of
their meals in school and their schooling needs. We are aware
that the economic conditions this year are more challenging
and have set our sights accordingly.
Cerebos is thankful to its staff for volunteering their help
at the sales. More importantly, organizing the BRAND'S®
Charity Sales 2012 is a great way for the company to
appreciate the many consumers of BRAND'S® health supplements
and also persuade them to do something for charity at the
same time."
Over the years, there have been more families which require
the help of the STSPMF to ensure the smooth continuation of
their children to attend school. As a newly-formed charity,
the Fund requires a steady fundraising stream to remain
sustainable so as to help more children.
