NOTICE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

AND REVISED EXPECTED TIMETABLE

FOR THE PROPOSED SHARE CONSOLIDATION

Reference is made to the circular (the "Circular") and notice of the EGM (the "Notice") of The Hong Kong Building and Loan Agency Limited (the "Company") both dated 3 August 2020 and the announcement of the Company dated 19 August 2020 (the "Announcement"). Unless otherwise stated, capitalised terms used herein shall have the same meanings as defined in the Circular and the Notice.

NOTICE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

As disclosed in the Announcement, the EGM is postponed due to Typhoon Signal No. 8 hoisted at the time of the original scheduled meeting. The EGM will be rescheduled to be held at Room 1801-4, 18/F, Harcourt House, 39 Gloucester Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong on Monday, 24 August 2020 at 11:45 a.m..

The resolution set out in the Circular and the Notice to be proposed at the EGM will remain unchanged, and such resolution will be proposed at the rescheduled EGM. All forms of proxy deposited with the Company's Hong Kong branch share registrar, Tricor Tengis Limited, for the purposes of the EGM will remain valid.
