DELAY IN PUBLICATION OF AUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE
YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023
We refer to the press release by Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited ('the Company') on the above subject dated 27 March 2024 notifying the Botswana Stock Exchange ('the BSE') and the investing public that the publication of the group Audited Annual Financial Statements ('AFS') shall be on or before 30 April 2024.
In terms of the BSE Equity Listings Requirements listing requirements, the Company is required to publish its audited consolidated financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2023 on or before 31 March 2024.
The Group has however in terms of section 5.6 (c) of the BSE Equity Listings Requirements published the unaudited preliminary financials on X-News.
The Group's intends to publish the audited financial results for the year ended 31 December 2023 by end of May 2024. The late publication is due to a lot more effort needed to ensure compliance with the disclosures of the newly adopted IFRS17 insurance standard than originally anticipated. Profit before tax of the audited results for the Group is however, not expected to differ materially from the results published on the 27 March 2024.
