Future Group, one of India's leading retailers, will standardize and automate its IT and delivery processes on a single platform based on Business Service Management (BSM) from BMC Software (NASDAQ:BMC). The solution will support more than 1,000 stores, including marquee names such as Big Bazaar, Pantaloon, Central, Brand Factory, Ezone and Home Town, across 85 cities.

With BSM, Future Group will seamlessly control and improve visibility across its IT environment, thereby providing quality services back to its customers and business. This will provide Future Group's IT Support Services team the ability to own tools and processes, address various potential issues and, if required, easily transition from one IT managed service provider to another.

"In a customer-facing business, it is imperative for us to standardize our processes across different business units to increase efficiency and enhance the customer experience," said Parakh Dave, CIO and CTO, Future Group. "We have many business critical applications that serve our customers and manage backend operations. BMC's BSM approach will enable us to monitor and automate business applications and have a complete view of business service performance and availability, including service levels, usage patterns, assets and costs in a proactive manner. BSM also brings IT Infrastructure Library ® (ITIL®) and other best-in-class industry processes and practices around Infrastructure Managed Services."

As part of its IT strategy, Future Group conducted extensive evaluations of solutions from different vendors, including the top four enterprise IT management software vendors, and selected BMC's BSM platform because it offers the most unified and comprehensive approach for managing the heterogeneous IT landscape, fitting Future Group's business ambitions.

For Future Group, the Point-of-Sale and SAP landscape constitute a group of critical business applications for which availability and performance can have a material impact on the company's success. BMC Software's BSM solution will help efficiently manage these applications.

"This marks our foray into the retail sector, where the speed, volume of information and business present challenging environments to manage," said Sachin Chawla, director of sales for India, BMC Software. "Our BSM solution will provide well-defined steps to help Future Group achieve their business goals, supported by a robust IT infrastructure."

The BMC products selected by Future Group have been configured to effectively reduce complexity and make customer support, change, asset and request management a seamlessly integrated process. This will automate all IT processes from a single point of control to provide an enterprise-wide dynamic workload scheduling management solution for physical and virtual environments.

"The BMC product suite is strategically aligned with our overall vision and growth plans and we are happy to be partnering with such a company," said Rakesh Biyani, joint managing director, Future Group. "We are already reviewing how the product can be leveraged for areas such as business operations, facilities management, etc."

Future Group's BSM platform includes:

  • BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping
  • BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite
  • BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management
  • Entuity Network Monitoring for BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management
