Jens Maier and Ilka Stricker Newly Appointed to Bertelsmann Supervisory Board

Gütersloh, October 20, 2022 - Jens Maier, Chairman of the Group Works Council of RTL Deutschland, and Ilka Stricker, Deputy Chairwoman of the Group Works Council of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA, have been newly appointed to the Supervisory Board of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA with effect from October 20, 2022. The international media, services, and education company made the announcement following an Extraordinary General Meeting. Maier and Stricker will sit on the board as employee representatives, succeeding Kai Brettmann, former Chairman of the Group Works Council of RTL Deutschland, and Christiane Sussieck, Chairwoman of the Corporate Works Council of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA, who are both leaving the Bertelsmann Supervisory Board. Four employee representatives currently sit on the Supervisory Board, including Jens Maier and Ilka Stricker.

Christoph Mohn, Chairman of Bertelsmann's Supervisory Board, said: "Jens Maier and Ilka Stricker have for many years and with great dedication advocated for their colleagues on various works council committees at Bertelsmann and thus live and breathe a part of our corporate culture. Jens Maier has chaired the Group Works Council of RTL Deutschland since June 2022; he has worked for the Bertelsmann Group since February 2002.

Ilka Stricker has served as Deputy Chair of the Arvato SCS General Works Council and Deputy Chair of the Bertelsmann Group Works Council since June 2022. She has worked for the international media company Bertelsmann since September 1991.
