Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, continues to open new sports fields across the Sultanate as part of its flagship Green Sports programme. In line with the bank's commitment to community development and promoting Oman as a sporting nation, the bank recently opened four new sports fields in North Al Batinah Governorate taking the total number of Green Sports fields opened so far to 111. The opening of the Al Najd Sports Team's stadium in the Wilayat of Saham was done in the presence of Asim Musallem Al Maamari, the team's secretary. The bank also inaugurated the Wadi Bani Omar team's stadium in the Wilayat of Saham, in the presence of Hilal Rashid Al Maamari, the team's manager.

Another field was handed over to the Al Wasit Sports Team in the Wilayat of Al Khabourah at an event attended by Ahmed Bin Issa Al Fairouz, a member of the team's board of directors. The fourth sports field was handed over to the Al Jafra Sports Team in the Wilayat of Sohar, in the presence of Salem bin Mohammed Al-Qulaibi, the team's Vice President. The opening events were attended by Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al Shizawi, Regional Manager - North Al Batinah, Bank Muscat, on behalf of the bank. He handed over project completion certificates to the respective teams at all the events, which were organised in compliance with Covid-19 norms.

On the occasion, Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al Shizawi, Regional Manager - North Al Batinah, Bank Muscat, said: 'Bank Muscat continues to invest strongly in sustainability and corporate social responsibility programmes across the country. The bank has so far handed over 111 Green Sports fields across the Sultanate. The bank's longest running CSR programme will continue to support and serve the community as it implements the bank's vision of serving you better, every day.' He congratulated the teams and their members for their achievements and for what they have done during the recent past.

With the latest openings, the bank has officially handed over 111 Green Sports fields to teams across different governorates of the Sultanate. The total number of teams which have benefitted from the programme until the end of last year has now reached 123, confirming the great success of the programme. There is no doubt that it has been greatly contributing to further build Omani sporting talent. The programme is providing an excellent means to channelise the energy and talents of Omani youth in a productive way, besides helping local communities develop stronger bonds. The scope of support under the Green Sports programme included installation of artificial turf or natural grass on sports fields, floodlighting and water-desalination systems.
