Bangkok Bank invites the general public to greet H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn who will preside over Chinatown's Chinese New Year Festival 2012 on 23 January 2012. Her Royal Highness will also visit Bangkok Bank's Sam Pheng branch, located on Wanij I Road, on the same day from 4:30 p.m. The branch building was built at the end of King Rama VI's reign in the commercial shop house style and mixes Western-influences with Chinese decorative arts. The four-storey brick building is rendered by cement, aligned to the curve in the road, and was registered as an historic building in the government gazette on 28 December 2002. The bank will also organize an exhibition telling the history of Bangkok Bank's Sam Pheng branch, and its role as 'Puan Koo Kit Mit Koo Baan', standing alongside Thai-Chinese merchants and people for more than half a century. Bangkok Bank Executive Chairman Kosit Panpiemras, President Chartsiri Sophonpanich, committee members and executives will welcome the princess to the Sam Pheng branch. To mark the special occasion, Bangkok Bank will decorate an arch at the entrance of Mungkorn Road, near where Sam Pheng branch is located, as well as decorating the road with blessing lanterns. The decorations will provide a photographic opportunity for customers and tourists joining Chinatown's Chinese New Year Festival 2012 which will run from Monday 23 - Tuesday 24, January 2012.
