Patterson has been appointed Chairman of the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine (ARM), the international advocacy organization representing the gene and cell therapy and broader regenerative medicine sector. Mr. Patterson has served as Vice Chairman of ARM since August 2016.

In his various leadership positions, Mr. Patterson has been responsible for the support and promotion of ARM's global strategy to increase funding for the research and development of advanced gene and cell-based therapies, as well as addressing industry issues around regulatory science and reimbursement to support marketing approval and commercial acceptance of safe and effective regenerative medicine products.
