Multisectoral Mission Côte d'Ivoire - Egypt

EGYPT - CÔTE D'IVOIRE BUSINESS BRIDGE

Abidjan, April 30, 2024 - Africa Development Club of Attijariwafa bank Group collaborated closely with Société Ivoirienne de Banque (SIB) and Attijariwafa Bank Egypt. Both partnered with the Egyptian Commercial Service under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to organize a multisectoral mission between Côte d'Ivoire and Egypt at the Radisson Blu in Abidjan on Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, 2024. This event's focus was «Egypt - Côte d'Ivoire Business Bridge.»

Chaired by Mr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, this mission's purpose was to strenghen the commercial relationships between the clients of Attijariwafa Bank Egypt and those of the Ivorian Bank. It was supported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and endorsed by Mr. Yahia Elwathik BELLAH, Vice-Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt and President of the Egyptian Commercial Service. This distinguished personality also graced the event alongside thirty Egyptian investors. The committee included eminent personalities, B2B networking sessions bringing together over 80 business leaders from Côte d'Ivoire and Egypt, and on-site visits, such as visits to the infrastructure at the Autonomous Port of Abidjan.

During his greeting speech, Mr. Mohamed EL GHAZI, General Manager of the Ivorian Bank, emphasized the significance of forging new economic ties between Côte d'Ivoire and Egypt, two nations bounded by a longstanding partnership. He portrayed this multisectoral mission as a conduit linking many ambitions which stands as strong symbols of reinforcement of commercial partnerships. He underscored the immense potential and numerous cooperative opportunities between Cairo and Yamoussoukro, urging stakeholders to combine their expertise in order to materialize fruitful B2B exchanges. Mr. Mouawia ESSEKELLI, CEO of Attijariwafa Bank Egypt, highlighted the pivotal importance of the partnership between Attijariwafa Bank Egypt, the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), and Africa Development Club. This strategic partnership aims to boost bilateral economic exchanges, comprising countries where Attijariwafa bank Group operates, thus fostering regional integration and mutual economic growth. He reiterated Attijariwafa Bank Egypt's commitment to supporting its clientels' development and the prosperity of African economies.

As for Ms. Mouna KADIRI, Director of the Africa Development Club, she elucidated the delegation's objective to facilitate the convergence of Ivorian and Egyptian enterprises, fostering interactions and forging business alliances. She highlighted the pivotal role of information dissemination and networking in nurturing the growth of commercial ties between the two nations.

Assuming the podium, Mr. Ismaïl DOUIRI, CEO of Attijariwafa bank Group, conveyed his satisfaction in facilitating collaboration between clients of the group's subsidiaries, in line with the objectives of the Africa Development Club. He assured the group's commitment to supporting the development of African economies and promoting commercial exchanges among countries on the continent.

Mr. Yahia Elwathek BELLAH, Vice-Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt and President of the Egyptian Commercial Service, praised the Africa Development Club and its affiliated banks for orchestrating this multifaceted mission. He reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to strengthening its economic relations with Côte d'Ivoire and promoting commercial exchanges between the two countries.

Concluding the succession of addresses, Mr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, Minister of Commerce and Industry of Côte d'Ivoire, extended congratulations to the orchestrators of this diversified mission and urged Ivorian and Egyptian enterprises to capitalize on the available collaboration prospects. He reaffirmed the Ivorian government's dedication to fostering a favorable ecosystem for business growth and investment facilitation.

The subsequent gatherings witnessed the participation of notable figures from Côte d'Ivoire's economic landscape, including: Ms. Solange AMICHIA, CEO of CEPICI; Mr. Daouda COULIBALY, Managing Director of Attijari West Africa; Mr. Yahya Al Wathik BELLAH, Commercial Service Director in Egypt; Mr. Siriki SANGARE, CEO of Opes Holding and President of the National Chamber of Accredited Promoters and Builders; Mr. Stéphane AFFRO, CEO of the Kaydan Group; and Mr. Reda Ben GELOUNE, Chief Executive Officer of the AITEK Group.

This multifaceted mission, organized by the Africa Development Club, facilitated 240 B2B meetings, benefiting approximately one hundred Egyptian and Ivorian companies.
