AT&T has fulfilled its promise to make high-speed internet available to over 440,000 homes and small businesses in hard to reach locations across 18 states by the end of 2017.

At the start of 2017 the vast majority of these locations lacked a high-speed internet connection entirely.

'We're thrilled to connect more families, businesses and communities through our leadership in bringing Fixed Wireless Internet to more places than any other company,' said Cheryl Choy, vice president, product marketing, AT&T. 'This is just one way we're laying the foundation for the future of fixed wireless home internet, an efficient way to deliver high-quality, high-speed internet to customers.'

Following the launchof our innovative Fixed Wireless Internet service as part of our FCC Connect America Fund commitment. We continue to expand and plan to make access available to over 1.1 million locations by the end of 2020, many getting access to high-speed internet for the first time. The service is available to residents and businesses in parts of Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.

Our Fixed Wireless Internet service delivers a home internet connection with download speeds of at least 10Mbps and upload speeds of at least 1Mbps. Customers can download, surf and stream their favorite movies or television shows, work from home and, among other things, take online courses. The connection comes from a wireless tower to a fixed antenna at customers' homes or businesses.
