PENNSYLVANIA AMERICAN WATER PROMOTES MELANIE HORVATH TO DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENT AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS HERSHEY, Pa. (January 30, 2017) - Pennsylvania American Water announced today the promotion of Melanie Horvath to director of Government and Regulatory Affairs. In her new role, Horvath will expand and enhance the company's statewide advocacy network and work closely with legislators and municipal officials and their staff members on policy matters that impact the company.

Horvath joined Pennsylvania American Water in 2012 as manager of Government Relations. She also serves as a liaison between legislators and municipal officials and Pennsylvania American Water's Operations team to address customers' questions and concerns. In addition, she oversees Pennsylvania American Water's political action committee.

A resident of Mechanicsburg, Horvath previously held public issues and policy roles for several non- profit and trade organizations in the state. She started her career in the Communications Office of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and later served as a press secretary for the Corbett Administration and as special assistant within the Ridge Administration. Horvath holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy from the Pennsylvania State University.
