Allied World Assurance is trading in a bullish trend and several elements argue for the continuation of this trend.

The company’s fundamentals are still strong. Sales increased by 20% in 2012, and are expected to continue to rise in 2013 by more than 11%. Analysts from Thomson Reuters consensus have revised largely upward their EPS estimates for 2013, from USD 6.1 in January 2012 to USD 7.07 today. The security is currently trading at a low price, its PER for 2013 is estimated at 11.92x.

Technically, the security shows a bullish configuration on all time scales. Prices have just bounced on the USD 85.8 short term support, and the 20-day moving average, which have supported many times the trend since the beginning of the year, should help the stock to reach the USD 92 long term resistance.

According to both technical and fundamental elements, it seems opportune to take a long position at the current price. The bullish trend should allow the security to reach the USD 95 resistance. If the stock crosses it, a new target price will be set. A stop loss will be placed under the USD 85.80 short term support to avoid a downtrend.
