  • Created in 2003, Maisons de Famille is majority-owned by Créadev (the investment arm of the Mulliez family)
  • Totalling nearly 10,000 beds and a turnover now exceeding €260m, the group aims at increasing its European footprint and targets, among others, Germany and Eastern Europe.

Paris, 4 november 2016. ALANTRA announces the acquisition of Spanish retirement homes group AMMA by Maisons de Famille from banking group CaixaBank. With 30 centers located throughout the country, 5,400 beds, a €97m turnover, and almost 2,500 employees, AMMA is one of the leading players of the retirement homes in Spain. This acquisition will enable Maisons de Famille to double its number of beds in Europe reaching nearly 10,000 beds in France, Spain and Italy.

Founded in 2003 by Hugues Harmel - and now managed by Philippe Tapié, Maisons de Famille is majority-owned by Créadev (investment arm of the Mulliez family). Thanks to the long-term support of its strong and entrepreneurial shareholders, the group quickly took an international turn, in a consolidating market, with the acquisition of the Italian group La Villa spa as early as 2008, including 21 retirement homes and nearly 2.000 beds, mainly located in Northern Italy. In December 2013, the group entered Spain through the acquisition of Adavir, a retirement homes group of about 2,000 beds around Madrid.

With the acquisition of AMMA, Maisons de Famille strengthens its network in the Spanish market, especially in the region of Madrid where it is now one of the leaders.
Building on this success which allows the group to take a decisive step by doubling its number of beds, Maisons de Famille aims to pursue its development, particularly in Germany and in Eastern Europe.

«I am glad to welcome the teams of Gruppo AMMA and integrate the residences to Groupe Maisons de Famille. In addition to the expected operational synergies, this transaction is a significant milestone in our development», comments Philippe Tapié, managing director of Maisons de Famille.
