Transaero Airlines carries out first flight on new Boeing 737-800 aircraft in restyled livery

| 25.05.2015

On May 24 2015, Transaero's brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft in new corporate identity performed its first flight on the Moscow - Astana route.

The passengers were able to appreciate the comfort of the new aircraft. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft has a Sky Interior cabin with passenger capacity of 158 seats. The aircraft is configured in two-class layout with eight seats in business class and 150 seats in economy class.

The seat pitch in business class is 55 inches, which is quite a comfortable distance. The seat pitch in economy class differs: it reaches 34-35 inches in front of the economy class cabin (seats for passengers who purchased tickets at the more expensive tariffs), and 31-32 inches in the rear part of the cabin. It's worth to note that a lot of world's leading airlines have 30 - 32 inches seat pitch in economy class on narrow-body aircraft.

New ergonomic and convenient seats produced by B/E Aerospace company are installed in economy class cabin. The seats have a slim profile, which provides more space for a passenger.

This is Transaero's first narrow-body aircraft, which provides not only the access to high speed broadband Internet onboard, but also mobile communications (this service used to be only provided on the airline's widebody aircraft earlier). These services have become available due to the installation of the latest Panasonic GCS satellite system. All seats have power outlets and USB-ports for charging portable electronic devices.

In addition, the equipment installed on the aircraft allows to get free access to media content of IFES via Wi-Fi connection. With this system each passenger can use his/her gadget to watch films downloaded on the server.

The Boeing 737-800 was the first aircraft, which appeared in Transaero' s renewed corporate identity. The airline plans to use this style for new aircrafts to join the airline's fleet in the future. This signifies an important step made in enhancing Transaero's corporate identity that has remained unchanged for more than two decades and has received wide recognition both in Russia and abroad.

The company's logotype, designed by the British agency StartJG, symbolizes the desire for the new. It also complies with the new slogan of the airlines "To the future together." While a refined and streamlined logo visually demonstrates this change, the developers of the new style have preserved the colours of the well-known Transaero's logo with a view to retain the identity of the brand, which has obtained strong positions.
