Air China Limited announced traffic results for the month and year to date ended December 2016. For the month, the company recorded an increase in combined passenger traffic (measured by revenue passenger kilometers ("RPK")) as compared to the same period of the year 2015 and to last month, respectively. Compared to the same period of the year 2015, passenger capacity increased by 6.4%, and passenger traffic increased by 10.5%. For domestic routes, passenger capacity and passenger traffic increased by 9.3% and 12.0%, respectively, as compared to the same period of the year 2015. For international routes, passenger capacity and passenger traffic increased by 3.4% and 9.4%, respectively, as compared to the same period of the year 2015. Passenger capacity on regional routes decreased by 7.9%, and passenger traffic saw a decline of 2.2%, as compared to the same period of the year 2015. The overall passenger load factor was 79.5%, an increase of 3.0 percentage points as compared to the same period of the year 2015. The passenger load factor for domestic, international and regional grew by 1.9 percentage points, 4.3 percentage points, 4.4 percentage points, respectively. In terms of cargo operations, in December 2016, both cargo and mail traffic (measured by revenue freight tonne kilometres ("RFTK")) and freight tonnage carried continued to display growth on a year-on-year basis and a monthly basis. Cargo capacity (measured by available freight tonne kilometers ("AFTK")) rose by 6.2% year-on-year. Cargo and mail traffic increased by 11.4% and volume of cargo and mail grew by 11.1% as compared to the same period of the year 2015. The cargo load factor was 59.0% in December 2016, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.7 percentage points. For the year to date ended December 2016, the company reported available seat kilometers of 233,050.8 million, revenue passenger kilometers of 188,136.9 million, revenue freight tonne kilometres of 6,994.1 million and overall load factor of 80.7%.
