On Saturday, 30 July 2016, traffic delays are expected in Slovenia, Ljubljana and the Gorenjska region, due to the visit of President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the ceremony at the Russian Chapel (Kranjska Gora, Vršič). Road users are advised not to make any travel plans in the Gorenjska region and Ljubljana for that day. However, if you need to travel there, plan your route ahead and prepare for possible delays. Access to the airport will be seriously disrupted or even closed especially during early afternoon and late afternoon or evening hours. Passengers and airport visitors are therefore advised to leave for the airport earlier than usual.

Latest information on road closures will be continuously available on the websites of the Police and Traffic Information Centre (PIC).

At the arrival and departure of the aircraft of president Putin there will be shorter limitations of airport operations, therefore shorter delays are possible. Airport operations will be limited to half an hour before the expected arrival of the airplane and by the time the presidential column of vehicles leaves the airport area and in the evening, half an hour before the expected departure of the airplane and by the time the presidential aircraft leaves the airspace of the Republic of Slovenia.
Longer delays, flight cancellations or other specifics are not expected at the airport.

Eventual changes and modifications of this announcement will be published at our website www.lju-airport.si and at Facebook page of Aerodrom Ljubljana.
