PONTE VEDRA, Fla. (AP) _ Advanced Disposal Services Inc. (ADSW) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $6.2 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Ponte Vedra, Florida-based company said it had profit of 7 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 19 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 2 cents per share.
The solid waste services provider posted revenue of $380.3 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $375 million.
Advanced Disposal Services shares have decreased 8% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $30.16, a drop of slightly more than 7% in the last 12 months.
