International stocks trading in New York closed higher on Monday.
The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts edged up 0.6% to 130.79. The European index ticked up 0.1% to 122.21. The Asian index moved up 0.9% to 157.71. The Latin American index gained 3.3% to 186.08, while the emerging-markets index advanced 1.5% to 273.18.
ABB Ltd. was among those whose ADRs traded actively.
The Swiss technology company rose 1% after it said it will acquire RCP's PowerTech Converter business for an undisclosed sum, which it expects to complete in the fourth quarter.
AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. rose 1.9% after precious metals producer Coeur Mining Inc. agreed to sell about 35,500 acres in South Nevada to a subsidiary of the gold-mining company for as much as $200 million based on the amount of gold found.
