Export inspections of U.S. corn and soybeans both fell in the latest week from where they were the prior week, according to the latest Agriculture Department data.

In its weekly Grain Export Inspections report, the department said that corn shipments totaled 711,733 metric tons for the week ended Dec. 7 -- while soybean shipments totaled 984,410 tons. Both are down from the previous week, with corn higher than it was at this time last year, while soybeans are well below where they were last year.

Wheat inspections rose from the previous week, totaling 281,697 tons. That is up from 187,955 tons last week, and up from this time last years as well.

Japan was the biggest destination for U.S. wheat, while Mexico was the leader for corn shipments and China the leader for soybean shipments.

Most-active CBOT futures contracts are mixed Monday, with corn down 1%, soybeans up 1.4%, and wheat down 3.4%.
