SANTIAGO, July 3 (Reuters) - Chile's peso appreciated 1.45% against the U.S. dollar by mid-day trading on Wednesday, as the greenback lost ground in global markets on weak jobs data and as copper prices climbed.

The red metal is Chile's largest export. The local currency was buying at 934.60 per dollar and selling at 934.90 per dollar. (Reporting by Froilan Romero;)
