The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Monday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed. The loonie was trading 0.2% higher at C$1.3727 to the greenback, or 72.85 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3716 to 1.3754. Canadian government 10-year bond yields rose 3.2 basis points to 3.772%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.6476%. U.S. May crude futures fell 59 cents to $82.55 a barrel on Monday.
