People safety is the core objective for the operational staff in the context of sharp deterioration of weather conditions in Ukraine. Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities HennadiiZubkostressed January 6 during a meeting at the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

He informed that a storm warning had been already declared all around the entire territory of Ukraine: Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Sumy and Chernihivregions.

'In such circumstances operational headquarters must work round-the-clock. The main thing is the safety of citizens, public order, transport operations, monitoring of fire situation, provisionof timely medical care. All the agencies should work to provide services, necessary assistance and to prevent threats that might arise in emergency situations. Regional state administrations must ensure maximum coordination of all services: the SES, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, the Ukravtodorand others. This means personal responsibility of heads of regions', said HennadiiZubko.

The Vice Prime Minister commissioned to ensure in all regions the deployment of heating points for the population, rapid clearing of roads with the involvement of necessary equipment, if needed - timely traffic limitation and assistance to the people caught in traffic jams. 'I am asking Ukrainians these days not to travel by cars on highways. After all, 190 people have been rescued from snow drifts in the recent week', said HennadiiZubko. Moreover, he instructed to resume as quickas possible the power supply in the disconnected settlements.
