HO CHI MINH CITY, 12 October 2017 - The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC-OU) have co-organized a second conference on 'Leading and innovating towards sustainable business development' in partnership with various international universities. The conference was held at HCMC-OU and attracted more than 100 domestic and foreign delegates active in research, teaching and business.

The conference consisted of presentations, workshops and nine sessions and discussions focused mainly on innovation in business, including marketing and human resource management and innovation.

Associate Professor, Doctor Vu Huu Duc - Vice Rector of HCMC-OU said, 'Innovation is one of the key determinants of business success, to provide new ideas to ensure that operations, products and services are always responsive to customers and markets. Successful exploitation of new ideas is essential for businesses to improve processes, bring new products and services to market, improve efficiency and, most importantly, improve profitability.'

The conference featured the participation of leading experts, including Prof. Wim Vanhaverbeke, one of the top 50 world leaders in innovation, according to the International Association for Management of Technology. Prof. Vanhaverbeke presented innovations in the context of the establishment of an open ecosystem. Other international experts presented ideas and together with local experts discussed how to implement innovation to promote sustainable development in enterprises.
