CHICAGO, Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, DDB Chicago announced that award-winning creative Tony Malcolm has joined the agency as Executive Creative Director on McDonald's.

Previously, Malcolm was a Creative Director at Leo Burnett UK where he oversaw the McDonald's creative output. Malcolm personally penned some of the brand's most renowned work including the "Just Passing By" series of films that was one of the most awarded campaigns in the restaurant category in 2012. This campaign was also awarded the first-ever Cannes Gold Lion for Creative Effectiveness.

"I have been an admirer of Tony's work for a long time and I am thrilled he is joining DDB Chicago and focusing his talents on our McDonald's business. A superior creative product is what DDB is expected to deliver to our clients, and Tony brings superior creative skills and experience to the Agency," said Paul Gunning, CEO of DDB Chicago.

During his eight-year tenure at Leo Burnett, Malcolm oversaw the UK Governments highly effective Think! Road Safety campaigns, which won 77 awards alone under his guidance, 22 of which he won personally. Overall, Malcolm's creative honors include five D&AD Yellow Pencils, four Gold Cannes Lions (an armful of Silver and Bronze) and recognition from nearly every major international awards show.

"DDB has a remarkable history and legacy that I am proud to join. I look forward to working closely with Paul and the rest of the team in Chicago," said Malcolm. "Admittedly, I'm sad to give up my tickets for the 2013-2014 Fulham season, but I am already a Bulls fan and will be following the Cubs."

Tony started his career at Saatchi and Saatchi more than 20 years ago and has since worked at many UK top creative agencies including Leagas Delaney, Simons Palmer Denton Clemmow & Johnson, TBWA, Abbott Mead Vickers, and Wieden+Kennedy and has run his own shop, Malcolm Moore.
