The walkout involves 7,000 nurses at
Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx
and Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan
Montefiore says the strike has forced them
to reschedule elective surgeries and procedures
The union urges people who are sick to seek care
regardless of concerns over
crossing picket lines of striking nurses
