Developers have been given the go ahead to build four new homes on a site originally agreed for three.

Atlantic Land Ltd put forward the scheme for the land next to 10 The Sheltons in Kirby Cross.

The new proposal is for four detached properties along with an access drive and turning head.

The site is outside the settlement development boundary in the Local Plan but within it in the emerging Local Plan in what has been determined as a socially sustainable location.

A TDC spokesman said: 'Consequently the provision of an additional home on the site is a more efficient and sustainable use of the land.'

The Council also agreed that the design and layout were acceptable and there were no concerns over residential amenity.

Essex County Council, as the highways agency had no objections and a revised landscaping scheme was also agreed.

The scheme was opposed by Frinton and Walton Town Council which believed the extra property represented overdevelopment.

TDC received one letter of objection from a resident
