Jan 3 (Reuters) - Canada's benchmark stock index rose higher on Tuesday, while an uptick in gold prices added to gains in mining shares.
At 0932 a.m. ET (1432 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 193.24 points, or 1%, at 19,578.16. (Reporting by Johann M Cherian in Bengaluru)
