Canadian manufacturers produced 1.4 billion cigarettes in December, down 34.8% from November. Cigarette production increased 7.2% from the same month a year earlier.

Compared to November 2016, the total number of cigarettes sold increased 6.7% to 2.0 billion. This was an increase of 9.3% compared with December 2015.
