South Korean refiner Hyundai Oilbank will undergo a scheduled turnaround at its Daesan refinery's No.1 crude distillation unit (CDU) from late April to late May.

The CDU, with possibly around 120,000 b/d of capacity, will undergo maintenance during 22 April-24 May, said a source close to the company. The Daesan refinery has 650,000 b/d of daily crude oil refining capacity, according to Hyundai's website.

The refiner's last-confirmed turnaround was at its 120,000 b/d residual desulphuriser (RDS) in September-October, according to Argus' records, which could have reduced feedstock to gasoline-producing units.

The exact fall in gasoline and gasoil production from the latest CDU maintenance could not be confirmed, although Hyundai Oilbank exported about 27,800 b/d of gasoline and 38,600 b/d of 10ppm sulphur gasoil last year, according to Korean shiptracking data.
