Ripken Baseball, in partnership with Sports Authority, one of the largest full-line sporting goods retailers in the United States and Puerto Rico, are collaborating to host a series of youth Baseball Field Days in February and March throughout four communities in California. Each Field Day will provide participating players with team training exercises that incorporate educational lessons and encompass the joys of baseball.

“We are thrilled to once again partner with Sports Authority for the opportunity to give back to our youth around the country,” said Colin Clark, Vice President of Brand Marketing for Ripken Baseball. “These clinics are a terrific way to provide young ballplayers with the proper fundamentals of the game and the value of playing the Ripken Way.”

All registered participants will receive on-field instruction and engage in a variety of skill stations, with focus on infield, outfield, pitching, hitting and agility fundamentals. Additionally, representatives from esteemed brands in baseball, including Under Armour, Easton, Rawlings and Wilson, will be on-site to showcase latest products and innovations at the free vendor expo. Players and members of the community can also visit the vendor expo for professional fittings, games, prizes and much more.

The first 150 youth players, ages 6–12, who register online at www.ripkenbaseball.com/sports_authority_clinics will be guaranteed a spot in one of the two sessions per day. The events are also open to parents, friends and members of the community who are interested in supporting and taking part in the day’s events.

Ripken Baseball and Sports Authority instructors will lead the clinics during morning and afternoon sessions from 9am–12pm and 1–4pm. Dates and locations for the Field Day clinics include:

  • February 13– Los Angeles, CA at Torrance Little League Fields
  • February 20– San Diego, CA at Cadman Park
  • February 27– Sacramento, CA at Whitney Community Park
  • March 5– San Francisco, CA at Emerald Glen Park
