Portugal plans to launch new June 2038-dated government bonds for which it has hired banks, one of the banks said in a deal announcement on Wednesday.

The syndicated transaction is expected to be launched and priced in the near future, subject to market conditions, the same bank said.

The banks hired as joint lead manager for the forthcoming 15-year benchmark bond issuance are Barclays, BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley and NovoBanco.
