Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus : Everett Returns to House Appropriations Committee

HARRISBURG - Rep. Garth Everett (R- Lycoming/Union) today announced he will serve another term on the House Appropriations Committee in the 2017-18 Legislative Session. In addition, he will be a member of the House Environmental Resources and Energy, Judiciary and Game and Fisheries committees.

'It's a privilege to return for another term on the vitally important House Appropriations Committee,' said Everett. 'We are headed into another difficult budget year where keeping spending in check is the top priority. I am also pleased that Sen. Gene Yaw is serving on the Senate Appropriations Committee, which will ensure our region is well-represented.'

Everett said he will reintroduce legislation on natural gas lease royalty fairness. His service on the House Environmental Resources and Energy will be a key in that effort.
'This committee approved my legislation on natural gas lease royalties in the prior session. Sadly, despite a favorable vote in committee, we did not get an opportunity to pass it in the full House. I am determined that we will get a vote on that legislation in this session.'

Everett said the committee assignments were exactly the ones he requested.
'I am pleased to return to the House Judiciary and Game and Fisheries committees,' said Everett. 'I have enjoyed serving on both of these committees. The House Judiciary Committee has oversight of the Pennsylvania court system and works to enhance many areas of law enforcement and crime fighting. As an avid outdoorsman, I look forward to once again representing the interests of residents of the region who enjoy hunting and fishing.'
