Technology investor James Montgomery today announced additions to the lineup of speakers slated to present at OASIS: THE MONTGOMERY SUMMIT. OASIS--an invitation-only event featuring top entrepreneurs and investors, senior level media and technology executives, and leading industry visionaries--will be held March 5-6, 2014 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica.

OASIS speakers added to the conference's schedule today include bestselling author Deepak Chopra and tech legend Paul Maritz. Chopra is America's preeminent expert on alternative medicine and holistic health, and has authored 65 books; his current focus is the intersection of technology and wellness. Maritz, currently CEO of data firm Pivotal Labs, worked for Microsoft from 1986 to 2000 and was a member of the five-person Executive Committee that managed the company's explosive growth during that time. In the years since, he has consistently been at the forefront of consumer computing technologies as CEO of VMware and other companies.

An outgrowth of the hugely popular Montgomery Technology Conference, OASIS makes its debut this year with 150 exceptional presenting companies. These companies will fall into three categories: "First Look" companies that generate less than $10 million in yearly revenues; "Emerging" companies with revenues between $10 million and $50 million; and "Growth" companies whose yearly revenues exceed $50 million. Prior conferences have provided early looks at Facebook, Twitter, Pandora, Splunk, Marketo, Meraki, Exact Target, Rocket Fuel, and other breakout companies.

OASIS will have a special focus on creativity and innovation at the intersection of the technology and business worlds. Founder Montgomery says his goal with OASIS is to bridge one of the industry's top insider technology and finance conferences with global thought leadership in innovation and creativity. "Montgomery Summit stakeholders have always relished the atmosphere at the Fairmont Miramar for intimate, high-level business networking and insights," said Montgomery. "At the same time, these leaders embrace an atmosphere where creativity and innovation can be explored in the context of building great products and companies."

Other speakers previously announced for OASIS include Ashish Thakkar, named World's Best Young Entrepreneur by the World Entrepreneurship Forum, and Brazilian mining billionaire Bernardo Paz, who will talk about the importance of creativity and innovation through the context of his world-famous art retreat in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil.

OASIS will also feature senior-level speakers from the University of Southern California and Lucasfilm.

The conference will feature an inaugural business plan competition--Money Ball--between early stage companies seeking financing in a live "Shark Tank"-like environment. The audience will be given the opportunity to invest in the winning company through a crowd sourcing platform.

Panel sessions this year feature industry leaders and robust debates on the future of advertising technology, enterprise technology, digital payments, and digital entertainment. Panelists will include senior executives from Facebook, Citrix, Google, and Axicom, as well as leading venture investors and entrepreneurs.

The digital payments panel, moderated by Quentin Hardy of the New York Times, will closely examine the future of Bitcoin and other "math based" currencies from the perspectives of leading entrepreneurs and investors.

OASIS will also feature exclusive gala receptions, world-class food, and special evening entertainment. Over 1,000 participants from around the world are expected to attend the inaugural OASIS Summit.

Presenting sponsors for OASIS include the Signal Hill and Macquarie Capital. Additional sponsors include Vantage Media, Ernst & Young, Citrix, Dreamhost, Silicon Valley Bank, Liquidnet, Gibson Dunn, NS Solutions, and Cooley. The conference will be held March 5-6, 2014 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica.
