NYLPI New York Lawyers for Public Interest I : applauds Governor Cuomo’s proposed actions to close loophole in Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative regulations

NYLPI applauds Governor Cuomo's proposed actions to close the loophole in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative regulations that leave the emissions from polluting peaker plants in environmental justice communities largely unregulated. NYLPI has been working closely with partners NYC Environmental Justice Alliance, UPROSE, and Environmental Advocates of NY to address this inequity in the treatment of power plants throughout the state and looks forward to continuing this work with NY DEC and the Governor's Office as part of the initiative announced at yesterday's State of the State.
