Tehran is prepared to enhance its gas ties with neighboring Armenia, managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Hamidreza Araqi said. Araqi further said that besides a goods-for-gas deal between Iran and Armenia, Tehran is prepared to bolster gas exports to Yerevan, Iran's SHANA news agency reported. Based on the deal, he pointed out, Iran receives 3 kilowatt hours of electricity from Armenia for every one million cubic meters of natural gas. Iran and Armenia signed a gas and power barter deal in 2004 for a period of 20 years.
