The sentiment indicator at the monthly level higher

The value of the sentiment indicator in January 2020 (at 4.1 percentage points - p.p.) increased by 1.1 p.p. compared to December 2019 (at 3.0 p.p.).

The monthly increase was influenced by confidence indicators in manufacturing (by 0.6 p.p.), in services (by 0.4 p.p.), among consumers (by 0.3 p.p.) and in construction (by 0.1 p.p.). The retail trade confidence indicator had a negative influence (by 0.3 p.p.).

The economic sentiment at the annual level lower

In January 2020 the sentiment indicator decreased by 8.0 p.p. over January 2019.

The annual decline was influenced by all five confidence indicators: the manufacturing confidence indicator (by 3.3 p.p.), the confidence indicator among consumers (by 2.0 p.p.), in services (by 1.7 p.p.), in retail trade (by 0.7 p.p.) and in construction (by 0.4 p.p.).
