By The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas went down to US$ 108.50/barrel (bbl) on 07.01.2013. This was lower than the price of US$ 109.17//bbl prevailing on the previous trading day of 04.01.2013.
In rupee terms also, the crude oil price decreased to Rs 5965.33/bbl on07.01.2013 from Rs5987.97/bbl on 04.01.2013. This was due to price fall in dollar terms as rupee depreciation moderated most of the increase. Rupee dollar-exchange rate on 07.01.2013 at Rs54.98/US$ against Rs 54.85/US$ on previous trading day of 04.01.2013.
